 use an Impact Gun with a paintball tank, is it possible? I want an impact gun for taking off/putting on my car's tires. I play paintball on occasion and thought that maybe I could use the tank for this. Paintball tanks hold a pressure of up to 4,500 psi and I am not sure but I think compressors for impact guns and other tools make and hold about 150 psi. Paintball gun's operate at about 100 psi to about 160 psi thanks to the gun's regulator so that got me thinking that maybe it could be possible, but I don't know how. I'd like an impact gun for just the tires and would only use it every once in a while, but I don't want a bulky compressor for just this 1 thing. My question to everyone is has anyone ever tried this? Is it possible? Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. not a smart idea, ive never seen an impact gun exploid, but the label is there for a reason, now being a mechanic that works with these everyday, its not the pressure-we run at 110 psi, its the volume of air being used, think of it like electricity, you have voltage ( in this case would be air pressure=110psi ) current would be the same as the size of the tank suppiing the voltage (100 gallon tank), and resistance would be the line it travels throug (we use 3/8" hose) The gun would be the fuse in the circuit, if that 4,500 psi reaches the gun you may have it exploid on you just like a fuse popping in a shorted circuit. An impact gun (good one) will cost about 300 dollars and a big enough air compressor to run it will be another 300 dollars, get an electric 1/2 inch impact if you dont want the compressor, it makes more sence anyways since it can go with you anywhere you go, they are around $500 new - Get a lithion Ion with as close or more than 300ft lbs tourqe, Ingersal Rand sells a good one |
