Camera Light Strobe
![]() CAmera Set up - Night clubs, lounges etc. - Low light? What is the usual set up shooting on events i.e clubs, lounges etc, I tried it in my room with a lamp and a strobe light to kinda replicate the club environment and i came up with shutter speed - 4 and aperture of 4.5 with 500 iso no flash but i notice i image are sometimes are blurry oh yeah im using the Manual mode.. I'm really to DSLR. Inputs and additional info will be really appreciated. Thank you. Nikon d80 Should i use flash? just worried when using a flash will kill the whole club scenery.. please help. I yes thank you i meant 4" what does make it wide as possible means? I want the people to be sharp... and blur the lightings or the backround.. I only have the built in flash. My first shoot will be on saturday. I'm kinda nervous that will will have crappy photos.... Your replies are much appreciated. Do you want the people sharp and clear or are you looking for a shot with the background sharp but the people blurred ? Anything with a slow shutter speed and people moving (dancing) is going to blur. You can set the iso as high as possible but the cost will be more noise in the picture. You will be able to get more light in using a prime lense with a large aperature. A tripod or monopod will help a bunch with camera movement. A tripod is more stable a monopod may be easier to manage and get to the locations you want to shoot from in a club. My guess though is that if you really want to capture photos with the people clear and recognizable you will need a flash. If you use slow sink you should still get in the things in the club you want. You should be able to moniotor the background so it is not all dark outside the flash range and still have the stop motion on the people when the flash fired. Play with the flash compensation to get just enough light to catch the subject and no more so you don't wash out the club look You may also want to try rear curtain flash this will blurr behind the people for an illusion of motion and still fairly good shot of the subject. Diffusor, gels or snoods may work with the stobe to give you some intereting effects Shoot raw because getting the white balance right in most clubs is going to be interesting ( and if you shoot with gels you may not truely white balance it as much as just picking what look you want) . With RAW you can adjust white balance in the digital darkroom. good luck |

All purpose car strobe
Strobe lights are used for emergency vehicle lighting as well as for decorative purposes. For whatever purpose it is used, a plug-in car strobe kit is a great accessory for any motor vehicle. On an ordinary vehicle it can do the job of a running light or a brake light, and in a police car it can be used as a warning light.
As strobe lights are used in different types of lighting, a car strobe can be used to power any of these. Police vehicles may use small strobe lights with one side measuring as little as less than 10cms, or may have them as part of large beacons, or in light bars. 360o rotating strobe light bars are used in many emergency vehicles to ensure all side visibility. Smaller lights are mostly mounted inside the vehicle.
More than as a warning light, a car strobe kit is extremely useful in a police vehicle as a concealed light. A strobe light can be easily incorporated into a head light where it will remain practically invisible till it is activated. This makes it an important accessory for police in undercover operations.
An inside mounted car strobe meant for stealth operations will have detachable mounts like magnetic mounts or adhesive straps using which its position can be frequently changed. However, there are permanent mounts also that will require the drilling of a hole through the roof of the car for installation. Even wireless strobe lights are available nowadays, which may not, of course, lend to easy installing.
A car strobe light kit meant for show use will have a minimum of five or six colors like blue, red, white, green, purple, yellow etc. The color caps will be designed to be interchangeable so that users can have any color combinations they choose. The strobe lights will fit into headlights, taillights, or bumper or corner light, and will have an electronic speed controller, power producing unit, and wiring system.
The features of a car strobe kit meant for off road shows will have some differences from a car strobe kit meant only for emergency vehicle lighting. It is important for the users to know the local state laws about the usage and display of strobe lights on private vehicles. Though law generally does not prohibit a person from buying a strobe kit, laws strictly control its use in non-emergency vehicles and by private individuals.
Car strobe does such an excellent job that people may even use it for outdoor lighting during emergencies. By plugging the strobe into the car, emergency location lighting is sometimes done though this will obviously be a drain on the car battery and cannot be considered for sustained use. But the light provided is often sufficient enough.
Car strobe is also quite popular for lighting with car strobists. This modern art of photographing the car with multiple light points kept away from the camera is quite popular in car photography and strobe lighting is used for it.
All that is needed to activate a car strobe is to plug it in. It gives a lot of powerful and beautiful light, whatever the purpose for which it is meant. The polycarbonate outer covering of a strobe light might sometimes get dulled after a while but polishing it the right way will help the strobe lights remain aglow all the time.
